Abstract

Tables presented cover 3/4, 7/8 and 1 in. diam bolts for both single shear and double shear connections made of A325 and A490 steel. The allowable bearing on base material is stated in tenths of a kip. The identification of type connections (whether friction or bearing with bolt threads excluded from shear planes) is in accordance with the simplified designation adopted for the new Seventh Edition AISC Manual of Steel Construction.
