Abstract

BPOM as the agency has the authority and responsibility in carrying out supervision of food and medicinal products that are circulated by business actors. The issues that will be discussed in this article are regarding the Role of the Food and Drug Administration for Business Actors in Special Region of Yogyakarta Yogyakarta. The method used in this article is juridical empirical. The result of the research in this article is that the BPOM of the Special Region of Yogyakarta supervises food and medicinal products that contain hazardous materials. Supervision is carried out by going directly to the market, especially the Bringharjo market, to find out what food products are being sold by traders. The results of the supervision show that there are still many food product sellers who mix their food products with hazardous materials, so they take firm action by asking the sellers to make a statement not to sell anymore and to socialize to the public about the dangers of mixing food products with dangerous ingredients.
