Saudi Female Sexual Dysfunction After Bariatric Surgery: A Cross-Sectional Survey

Abstract

This cross-sectional study investigated the effects of substantial weight loss following bariatric surgery on sexual function, psychological health, and sexual quality of life among Saudi women. A total of 100 women who underwent vertical sleeve gastrectomy were assessed using the Female Sexual Function Index (FSFI) and Sexual Quality of Life-Female (SQoL-F) questionnaires. Approximately 66% reported improvement in sexual life after surgery, while 61% met criteria for female sexual dysfunction. Bariatric surgery was associated with improved female sexual function and quality of sexual life.
