Abstract
The system CaO-CaO·AhOa-2CaO·F e2 0 a is of importance to portla nd cement chemistry beca use it provides in for mation o n the composi tio n of t he iron-bea rin g phase in cem ent cli nker. Iron-bearin g soli d solutio ns in the syste m were found to exi st as a continuo us na rrow band ex t endin g from 2CaO ·F e, Oa to 6.45CaO·2.3 1AI, Oa· F ,0 3' Addi t ional t ie lin es were esta b-lish ed to show t he composition of the iron-bea rin g solid solu t ion phase (F ss) a nd li q uid phases d urin g the co urse of crystalli zation of m ixtures wi t hin the system. I so th erms have b een located for t he regio ns of p rin'cipal in terest. Compatibility relat io ns differ somewh at from t hose repo rted by previoLls investigators.
