Abstract

TCDD at sublethal dose levels suppresses the cell mediated immunity in both guinea pigs and mice. Humoral immunity was slightly suppressed in the guinea pig. The possible role of immune suppression in the death of TCDD treated guinea pigs and mice is discussed in view of the absence of major pathologic effects, except in the lymphoid system.
