Abstract

Silica was modified by silane coupling agent, and then the modified silica was added to epoxy resin to prepare the composite. The modified silica / epoxy composites were characterized by scanning electron microscope, mechanical property test and contact angle test, and the effects of different silica dosage on the properties of the composites were studied. The results show that the mechanical properties of the composites can be greatly improved after the composite of modified silica and epoxy resin, and the optimum addition amount is 5%.
