Abstract

Perkins interprets differences in proper uses of pesticide and pest control strategies in light of paradigms and disciplinary matrixes as described by Kuhn and Brown. This is in contrast to the "corruption theory" suggest by van den Bosch in The Pesticide Conspiracy. Perkins contrasts Integrated Pest Management (IPM) to Total Population Management (TPM), and claims that the former is the logical extension of a naturalistic philosphy, and the latter a logical extension of a humanistic philosophy.
