Researches on acetylenic compounds. Part XLII. Reductions with lithium aluminium hydride

Abstract

Lithium aluminium hydride acts as a highly selective reducing agent toward acetylenic alcohols and glycols of various types. The steric configurations of the ethylenic products are discussed; trans-forms appear to be produced invariably. A number of spectrographic correlations are described.
