Abstract

Retrieval of medical images from databases is important in the wake of increasing medical image data. Intensity histograms and its variants have proved to be useful features for image retrieval. But in the presence of intensity change due to contrast enhancement in perfusion images, histogram based techniques are not very useful. We propose to use shape context information for retrieval of dynamic perfusion images. Our tests on renal perfusion MR images show that shape context information is a useful approach for the retrieval of such images.
