Abstract

This study was carried out to observe the productivity and bottom soil chemical aspects of 1 year  and 3 years operated pond of black tiger prawn Penaeus monodon Fab. culture. The results of study depicted that pond operated for 3 years contained higher (P<0.05) organic carbon (10.36%) and nitrogen (0.22%), but lower Fe compared with 1-year-pond operated.   Sulfur content tends to increase with increase in age of pond.  Productivity of 3-year-pond was lower (P<0.05) than that of 1-year-pond operated.
