Abstract

None of traditional remedies have been effective in resolving even moderately severe paraffin problems; chemical approach offers desired effect; solvents, wetting agents and dispersants are sometimes helpful with minor paraffin problems, but these generally provide only temporary relief; only entirely effective paraffin control chemical is from group known as wax crystal modifiers; corroborative data from laboratory and field studies are presented to demonstrate this significant advance in technology for paraffin control in petroleum production.
