Abstract

Actualmente, diferentes santuarios, templos, iglesias y festivales religiosos atraen cada a�o a un n�mero creciente de personas. Uno de los tres grandes centros de peregrinaci�n cristiana desde la �poca del medievo es la Catedral de Santiago de Compostela (Roma, Jerusal�n y Santiago). Este art�culo se centra en el an�lisis del Camino de Santiago. En concreto, se ha desarrollado un trabajo de campo a fin de identificar al turista-peregrino y se ha tratado de analizar su satisfacci�n a trav�s de modelos econom�tricos. La ruta elegida y la duraci�n del viaje, entre otros, influyen en la satisfacci�n de este tipo de turista. La fidelidad del turista-peregrino es otro aspecto a destacar. Como conclusiones se destacan adem�s diferentes aspectos que permitir�an atender mejor la demanda de este tipo de turismo. Today, different shrines, temples, churches and religious festivals attract a growing number of people each year. The Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela is one of the three major centres of Christian pilgrimage since medieval times (Rome, Jerusalem and Santiago). This paper focuses on the analysis of Saint James' Way. Specifically, field work has been carried out to identify the tourist-pilgrim and to analyse their satisfaction by means of econometric models. The route and the duration of the trip, among others, affect the satisfaction of this type of tourist. The loyalty of tourist-pilgrims is another noteworthy aspect. As conclusions, different aspects are also highlighted in order to meet the demand for this type of tourism better.
