New aldehydes and related alcohols in fresh lemon peel extract (Citrus limon L.)

Abstract

New branched unsaturated and saturated aldehydes and related alcohols were identified in a solvent ssextract of freshly grated lemon peel by GC/MS-analysis: (E)-2-methyl-2-heptenal, (E)-2-methyl-2-nonenal, (E)-2-methyl-2-undecenal, 4-methyl-nonanal, 4-methyl-undecanal, 4-methyl-nonanol and 4-methyl-undecanol.
