Abstract

© 2019 Society of Photo-Optical Instrumentation Engineers (SPIE). An optical blade tip timing scheme is presented and demonstrated experimentally using an optical microstructure surface inscribed on the blade tip. The results show that the method is not sensitive to the fluctuations of light intensity introduced by the change of tip to sensor clearance, the light intensity of light source, and quality of the tip surface.
