Multiple reproductives in nests of the Neotropical termite Constrictotermes cyphergaster (Isoptera, Termitidae, Nasutitermitinae)

Abstract

Constrictotermes cyphergaster (Isoptera, Termitidae, Nasutitermitinae) builds arboreal nests in "Cerrado stricto sensu" in Brazil and these nests are frequently cohabited by inquiline termites and by termitophiles. The presence of termitophiles occurred mainly in larger nests. Thirty nests presented termitophiles, and the most abundant were Corotoca melantho (Coleoptera: Staphylinidae), caterpillars (Lepidoptera: Geometridae) and ants (Hymenoptera: Formicidae)
