Abstract

This paper presents a fault diagnosis method based on gray relational calculation with network topological data, switch-status data from SCADA and fault recording data. For every suspected fault line in power cut area, vertical gray correlation is calculated according to current sampling value before and after the fault, and transverse gray correlation between reference line and suspected fault line is calculated by selecting one active reference line, according to current sampling after fault. Then weighted fusion is performed for vertical and transverse gray correlations toobtain comprehensive gray correlation based on fault criterion and find out fault elements. Simulation on IEEE 14-bus proves that this method can accurately find out fault element, regardless of fault location and type and transition resistance.
