Abstract

Optimal work performance is certainly the dream of every individual and company. Many factors affect the work performance of an employee, including the intellectual and emotional intelligence of the individual employee. The purpose of this study was to determine whether emotional intelligence and intellectual intelligence can affect employee performance at PT. National Pension Savings Bank (BTPN) Tbk Medan. This study uses quantitative methods with multiple linear regression analysis, hypothesis testing and coefficient of determination as data analysis techniques. The study used a saturated sample with 71 (seventy one) respondents, namely all employees. The results of the t-test analysis showed that there was an influence of emotional intelligence on employee performance with tcount > ttable, namely 3.043 > 1.667 with a significance of 0.003 < 0.05. Furthermore, there is the influence of intellectual intelligence on employee performance with tcount > ttable, namely 3.264 > 1.667 with a significance of 0.002 < 0.05. The F test obtained the value of Fcount > Ftable which is 15.125 > 3.13 which shows that simultaneously emotional intelligence and intellectual intelligence have a significant effect on employee work performance and the R-square result is 0.308 or 30.8% which shows about 30.8 Work Achievement variables (Y) can be explained by the variables of Emotional Intelligence (X1) and Intellectual Intelligence (X2). From the results of the study it was concluded that emotional intelligence is still not paid attention to by the company, employee skills have not been maximized to increase employee work performance.
