Abstract

A method of intensity correction is described that is particularly useful for magnetic resonance angiography images acquired with phased-array coils. In this method a low-pass filtered version of the image is subtracted from the original image to remove signal variations due to the phased-array coil. This avoids the noise amplification caused by division correction and enhances the signal-to-noise ratio of small arteries in maximum intensity projections. 501-504 (C) 2000 Wiley-Liss, Inc.
