Literature Review: The Influence of Digital-Based Learning Media on Civics Learning in Elementary Schools

Abstract

With the development of technology and the transformation of education into a new paradigm, there have been adjustments in the use of Civic Education learning media at the elementary school level. This study aims to analyze digital learning media and their impact on Citizenship Education (PKN) learning in elementary schools within the context of the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum. The method used is a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) with a PRISMA approach, which includes the stages of identification, screening, eligibility, and inclusion. Data sources were obtained from several databases such as Google Scholar, Eric, ScienceDirect, and Scopus with articles published from 2022 to 2025. From a total of 13,030 articles, 18 relevant articles were obtained and analyzed in depth. Data analysis techniques in this study included qualitative and quantitative descriptive approaches for comprehensive results. The research findings indicate that there are six main categories of digital learning media used: dynamic audio-visual media, static visual media, interactive media, game-based media, digital physical device-based media, and interactive digital book media. The use of these media significantly impacts improvements in cognitive learning outcomes, motivation and interest in learning, critical thinking and reasoning skills, as well as creativity and active participation in learning among students.
