Abstract

Ubiquitous vibration sensing for Condition based Monitoring (CbM) can enable cost savings on machine life and maintenance. Conventional vibration sensors cost upwards of tens and hundreds of dollars, limiting the scale of their deployment. In this work, we present a cheap foam-based vibration sensor, with 50 Hz bandwidth and capable of distinguishing machine operating conditions.
