Abstract

The article discusses the increasing use of web-based "sharing economy" platform in digital transactions. Also explored is the impact of the digital platform on the measurement of gross domestic product (GDP) transactions. A chart is presented on the market capitalisation of peer-to-peer online marketplace and homestay network Airbnb Inc.
