Abstract
Bacilli Calmette-Guérin (BCG) is a type of Mycobacterium bovis species bearing all the structural features of M. tuberculosis but no disease has been described due to M. bovis. BCG vaccine is indicated for prevention of this disease via stimulation of the development of active immunity against tuberculosis. Vaccination, especially during the first decade of life in children, protects against the risk of tuberculosis and tuberculosis meningitis. The BCG vaccine has a high reliability. Various skin lesions after vaccination are rare complications. We report a patient who presented with a specific complication which is an erythematous nodule after BCG vaccination, and diagnosed as BCG-itis.
