Abstract

Objective To investigate the effect of acemannan isolated from Aloe vera gel on the steady level of dentinsialophosphoprotein (DSPP) and dentin matrix protein 1 (DMP 1) mRNAs in primary human pulpal cells. Materials and methods Cells were treated with the designated concentrations of acemannan (0.25, 0.5 and 1 mg/ml) for 24 hours. The reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction assays were used to investigate the effects of acemannan on the steady level of DSPP and DMP 1 mRNAs.
