Abstract

Anna Camps is a retired Professor from the Universi-tat Autònoma de Barcelona. She has been the founder and coordinator of the GREAL research group (Grup de Recerca sobre Ensenyament i Aprenentatge de Llengües, the Research Group on Language Teaching and Learning). She has led innovative research pro-jects in Spain on the teaching of written composition, the metalinguistic activity of students and the teach-ing of grammar. Maria Josep Cuenca holds a PhD in Catalan Philol-ogy and is a Professor at the University of Valencia. Her field of study is syntax, discourse analysis, and linguistics applied to language teaching and transla-tion. She has published works on connectors, inter-jections, discourse markers, and demonstratives, as well as more general topics on Catalan syntax, text grammar or grammaticalization.
