Abstract
Objective To understand the effective temperature for whole generation development of mosquitoes, thus to provide theory evidence for vector control. The development and reproductive conditions of Aedes albopictus, Culex pipiens pallens and Anopheles sinensis under different temperatures were observed in this study. Methods The vegetative reproductive cycle, egg, larvae and pupae stages and gonotrophic cycler of Aedes albopictus, Culex pipiens pallens and Anopheles sinensis at 7 different temperatures, as 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40 ℃with illumination incubation were observed in 2017. Results Among 7 groups, the Aedes albopictus and Anopheles sinensis couldn′t complete the full developmental cycler at 10 ℃, 15 ℃ and 40 ℃, the temperature of the other 4 groups could complete the whole generation development. The average developmental time for Aedes albopictus and Anopheles sinensis were 37.73 d, 18.50 d, 16.92 d, 13.66 d and 29.13 d, 15.46 d, 12.19 d, 10.90 d respectively at 20 ℃, 25 ℃, 30 ℃, 35 ℃. Culex pipiens pallens couldn′t complete the full developmental cycler at 40 ℃, the temperature of the other 6 groups could complete the whole generation development. The average developmental time for Culex pipiens pallens were 80.88, 46.32, 31.07, 24.97, 17.14 and 14.48 d respectively at other 6 temperature. Conclusion The cyclogeny time decreased with high temperatures. The mosquitoes cannot complete the full developmental stages under excessive low or high temperatures. The temperature has different effect on the 3 species mosquitoes.
