Abstract

Stunting is a type of problem in children caused by poor nutrition, especially if it lasts in the long term. This condition can be caused by malnutrition in pregnant women or when the child is growing. Powelua Village is one of the remote villages that receives little attention from the outside community. As a result of road access and difficult terrain to reach this village, the condition of this village is very lagging behind compared to other villages in this sub-district. The aim of this service activity is to socialize the importance of nutrition in the First 1000 Days of Life to prevent stunting. The method of this activity is carried out by providing outreach to residents using leaflets regarding important nutrition in the First 1000 Days of Life, then a question and answer session and distributing questionnaires to measure residents' understanding. As a result of the activity, the community was very enthusiastic and were able to increase their knowledge through the posttest questionnaires that were distributed. From the results of posttest calculations, it was found that 41% of the public knew the importance of nutrition in the first 1000 days of life. It can be concluded that this activity is very beneficial for the people of Powelua Village
