Abstract

Data from the Swedish Cancer Register 1987-1996 were used to examine seasonal trends in the diagnosis of cancer. For melanomas, prostate, breast and thyroid cancer there were clear seasonal variations with reductions in the number of cases reported during the summer and December that are likely to reflect mainly hospital delays. © 2003 Cancer Research UK.
