Abstract
Nepalomyia Hollis and Neurigonella Robinson are synonymized. The genus Nepalomyia is more fully characterized and the Nearctic species are revised. Nepalomyia nigricornis (Van Duzee) and N. sombrea (Harmston and Knowlton) are reassigned and redescribed. Two new species, N. dilaticosta Runyon and Hurley and N. hesperia Runyon and Hurley, are described. New combinations are created for the following non-Nearctic species: Nepalomyia bidentata (Yang and Saigusa), N. brevifurcata (Yang and Saigusa), N. crassata (Yang and Saigusa), N. daliensis (Yang and Saigusa , N. daweishana (Yang and Saigusa), N. dentata (Yang and Saigusa), N. flava (Yang and Saigusa), N. furcata (Yang and Saigusa), N. henanensis (Yang, Yang, and Li), N. longa (Yang and Saigusa), N. longiseta (Yang and Saigusa), N. luteipleurata (Yang and Saigusa), N. pallipes (Yang and Saigusa), N. pallipilosa (Yang and Saigusa), N. pilifera (Yang and Saigusa), N. pingbiana (Yang and Saigusa), N. tatjanae (Negrobov), N. trifurcata (Yang and Saigusa), N. tuberculosa (Yang and Saigusa), N. yunnanensis (Yang and Saigusa), and N. zhouzhiensis (Yang and Saigusa). A key to Nearctic males and females and a catalog of the world Nepalomyia are provided.
