Economic model to improve competitiveness in the Sugar Company Valdez of Milagro City, Ecuador

Abstract

Compañía Azucarera Valdez S.A.(CAVSA) is one of the biggest companies in Ecuador that has a long experience in the agro-industrial sector and has more than 137 years in the market. It's an important part of the culture in the country and Milagro city where the company is established. About the research that has been developing since 2018, a proposal for an economic model based on stages was prepared to improve CAVSA's competitiveness that allows improving profitability levels and contributed to the insertion in proactive conditions in the economic and productive activities of the region. The last 5 years of the company's statistical information was accessed which allows diagnosing the company's current competitive situation. At the same time, it was possible to develop a model that contribute to the company's management. The results achieved demonstrate that the model its essential to help the company's competitiveness because the research show that they have suffered a significant decline in the activities of the agro industrial sector.
