Implikasi Pengggunaan Internet terhadap Partisipasi Sosial di Jawa Timur

Abstract

This research was conducted to find the implications of using internet for social participation in East Java. The method used in this research is through survey. The location’s sample were determined by technique of multistage area random sampling. Data were collected using questionnaire through interviews with respondent. Data analysis use descriptive statistics. The results indicate the usage of internet has implications for the social participation of respondents with local residents. This is seen from the statement most respondents said that the use of internet by respondents could provides active participation for involved in activities in the community, and making decision. Half of respondents use the internet for following political activities. The use of internet also has implications for the social participation of local residents. This matter can be seen from the statement of the majority of respondents that the use of internet can provides active participation for local residents to engage in community activities and to make decisions.
