A revision of Stenoperla (Plecoptera: Eustheniidae) and removal of Australian species to Cosmioperla new genus

Abstract

Stenoperla (Eustheniidae: Stenoperlinae), the only New Zealand genus in the family, is revised. A new diagnosis and keys to species are given and two new species are added bringing the total to four. Australian species previously assigned to Stenoperla are removed to Cosmioperla new genus and diagnoses for it and its species groups are included. A key to all genera in Stenoperlinae is also given. Habitus illustrations, drawings of genitalia, and other parts of diagnostic value are added. © 1996 Taylor and Francis Group, LLC.
