AI-Mediated Music Composition-Based Learning (ABC-IA): A Transversal Proposal of an Active Method

Abstract

Introduction: This article presents a proposal for an active method that integrates artificial intelligence and musical composition in the educational process to foster creativity and collaborative learning. Methodology: The theoretical foundation of the method is based on constructivism and connectivism. Two workflows are presented: one where students create the song and video clip, and another where the teacher assumes this role, using AI tools to compose and produce educational songs. Results: The ABC-IA method is expected to facilitate the development of cognitive, technical, pedagogical, communicative, collaborative, academic, social, emotional, artistic, and metacognitive skills in both teachers and students. Additionally, it promotes collaborative work and socio-emotional learning. Discussion: The benefits of the method, such as student motivation and socio-emotional well-being, as well as the challenges in its implementation, including technological equity and teacher training, are discussed. Conclusions: The ABC-IA method aspires to become a useful tool for integrating creativity and Artificial Intelligence in education, promoting active and collaborative learning.
