Abstract
The exploitation of the sea-bed for natural gas and oil, together with the shore-based installations which this demands, greatly increases the hazards which marine life must face. In the years ahead the sea-ducks off the eastern coast of Scotland will be particularly at risk, and this timely study of their distribution and numbers is basic to the problems that attend any measures which might be taken for their conservation. © 1973 Taylor & Francis Group, LLC.
