Abstract

The article analyzes the meaning given by university students to the concept of university social responsibility, through research with a qualitative approach through a single and instrumental case study, considering the semi-structured interview and the focus group as information gathering techniques. It is concluded that the social responsibility of the university raises the challenge of refocusing the institutional mission, towards a formation process linked to the surrounding social reality, as well as through a more active social role of the university in face of the social needs and problems of the territory where the universities are installed.
