This article addresses the preliminary results of an ongoing investigation on how to deal with hate speech from educational spaces. The rise of authoritarianism in the public sphere and in democratic levels of power seems to be combined with an attempt to silence or "neutralize" certain debates in school spaces. In this sense, wondering “what happens when there is no place for dialogue” is the engine that moves us to develop this research in three phases: the first (training through a summer course with social agents dedicated to work on hate speech in various areas) and the second one (conversations and two discussion groups with teachers and other educators) have already ended and; while the third phase (participatory research with adolescents) is beginning at the time of writing this text. All this will lead to a process of co-elaboration of training materials to support teachers who consider it appropriate to talk about hate speeches from educational centres thus providing an imminently practical sense to educational research.
