Abstract

The following article aims to contribute, albeit in a preliminary way, to the broadening of discussions on Religion, Gender and the Public Sphere in general and, especially, on the forms of configuration of the Islamic religion in contemporary times. Thus, we will consider two scenarios: the French and Brazilian public spheres, while paying attention to “how” Muslim women in different (inter) national contexts occupy, build and produce their social positions in the public sphere.
