Abstract

This paper describes the design method and the experimental results of an active bandpass filter using inverted common-collector circuits for very high frequency bands. The performance of a four-resonator active bandpass filter is presented. The experimental results show that the insertion loss is negligible, the response curve is excellent, and that the intermodulation is minus 50 db for 70 db/ mu v input signal level in the NTSC color television system. The measured noise figure is about 6 db. Based on the analysis and experimental results, the authors believe that an active filter of this type can be accepted for practical use with excellent performance. In addition, this filter is very compact and light in weight.
