Abstract
Corruption continues to influence the recruitment and management of customs staff in Sub-Saharan Africa. This creates mistrust in companies and has a negative impact on the reform of customs services. In this context, computerisation, which is a key component of modern-day administrative structures, has not produced all the expected results in terms of reducing the time and costs for the passage of goods or of widening of the tax base. © De Boeck Université.
