Abstract
The polymerization of terephthalaldehyde and hexamethylenediamine to obtain a film-forming high molecular weight polyimine solution was considerably facilitated through the use of m-cresol as a solvent under mild conditions. The reaction was reversible, though the equilibrium favored a high product concentration. A crystalline but partially cross-linked powder and film were obtained from the solution. © 1983 The Society of Polymer Science, Japan.
