Abstract

This replicative study evaluates the factors that influence the adoption of a mandatory e-Gov system in the perception of public university employees. The application of the UTAUT model showed that users perceive that by using the system they will perform better with less effort to perform their activities. Having conditions that facilitate the use of the system has a significant positive influence on the acceptance of the system. No statistical significance was found in the relationship between social influence and the behavioral intention to use the system. Analysing indirect effects of age, gender and experience, no significant evidence was found that these variables influence the behavioral intention to use the system. Computing resources, knowledge and technical support are factors that increase acceptance of e-Gov. The research findings can help those involved with the development and deployment of systems for e-government to create actions that minimize user difficulties and increase system acceptance.
