Abstract

Aggression in children and adolescents is common in different settings, including home, school, and clinical settings. Aggression is a symptom, not a diagnosis; therefore, careful evaluation is needed to discover possible medical, substance-related, or psychiatric disorders that may be causing aggressive behaviors. The identified disorders will usually be treated with a combination of behavioral and pharmacologic interventions.
