Understanding Students’ Religious and Spiritual Pursuits: A Case Study at New York University

Abstract

Utilizing a survey sample of 988 out of 2,000 randomly selected students, this 2002 report addresses the overarching questions: (1) What are the religious/spiritual beliefs and practices of NYU students? How do students differ by religious/spiritual backgrounds? (2) How has NYU affected these changes? Three analytical methods– frequency analyses, cross-tabulations, and regression analyses–were conducted.
