Sesquiterpenoids From the Leaves of Datura metel L.

Abstract

In the course of chemical investigations of Datura metel L., a new sesquiterpenoid, dmetelin J (1) was isolated from the leaves, along with the 4 known compounds apocynol A (2), blumenol B (3), megastigmane (4), and (+)-dehydrovomifoliol (5). Structure elucidation was performed by spectroscopic techniques, including 1- and 2-dimensional NMR spectroscopy and HRESIMS. Compounds 2, 3, and 5 were isolated from the Solanaceae for the first time. All isolated compounds were subjected to anti-inflammatory activity evaluation.
