Abstract

A simple route for synthesis of compound 3 via three component reaction involving ethyl 6-methyl-4-(4-methylphenyl)-2-thioxo-1,2,3,4-tetrahydropyrimidine-5-carboxylate (1), 3-(3,4-dichlorophenyl)-1-phenyl-1H-pyrazole-4-carbaldehyde (2) and monochloroacetic acid is described. The newly synthesized compound is well characterized by elemental analysis, IR, 1H-NMR and mass spectral studies. © 2012 by the authors; licensee MDPI, Basel, Switzerland.
