Abstract

This paper declares the non-destructive method for the control of the wheel-rail surface degradation where the major surface degradation phenomenon is a combination of wear and plastic strain. The strength and plasticity characteristics (σut and δ) of the wheel's material were investigated by dynamic indentation method.
