Abstract

Abstract The Natuurkunde van het Geheelal in Wolfenbüttel, which was made in Utrecht around 1465-1470 is a text about celestial bodies and meteorological and natural phenomena. Most copies of this text are clarified by astronomical drawings and diagrams. The manuscript in Wolfenbüttel, however, also contains miniatures with the personifications of the seven planets and the signs of the zodiac. The author's aim is to find the source of inspiration for the unusual pictures of the planets in particular, and also for the signs of the zodiac. Keywords
