Abstract
New technologies appear to be radically changing our world. Here we analyse the conditions under which this can take place. We do this in relation to an important group of phenomena related to computational technologies and biotechnologies. These phenomena respond to widely used terms, largely thanks to the media: virtual reality, augmented reality, artificial intelligence, enhanced humanity and the Internet of Things. We argue that artificial intelligence occupies a central place among them and that the constitution of a truly new world essentially depends on our attitudes to it.
