As crianças do campo e suas vivências: O que mostram suas brincadeiras e brinquedos

Abstract

The present research had as objective to analyze, from the play, elements that can contribute to the analysis of the children’s experience from rural areas. A group of eight children from kindergarten in rural areas of the city of Vitória da Conquista, Bahia, participated in the study. The following research procedures were employed: direct observation with photographic record, and round of conversation. The material produced by children in the conversation rounds (from the photos) made it possible to identify me]anings and some senses of the context of the children, such as integration with elements of nature and animals, as well as experience with specific aspects of its domestic everyday life, as the firewood, the shotgun and means of transportation in the region. The discussions denounce that the school does not offer the contact with elements of the nature that are part of the rural environment where the children live.
