Abstract

This editorial briefly discusses the epidemiology and control of zoonotic diseases in the eastern Mediterranean and Middle East regions, with particular reference to brucellosis, rabies, echinococcosis, leishmaniasis and foodborne diseases including tuberculosis, campylobacteriosis, enterohaemorrhagic Escherichia coli infections, listeriosis and salmonellosis.
