Abstract

Of the ten methods compared in this investigation, the analytical performance characteristics of the automated glucose oxidase oxygen rate method (i.e. precision, linearity, freedom from interferences, carryover, and equivalence of results on patient samples) were found closest to those of the Proposed Product Class Standard (1974) Hexokinase Method. Because of this, and because it is rapid and requires a relatively small sample, it is a good candidate method for use in the routine clinical laboratory.
